Joel Grinder, LCPC M.Div.

I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) and have been licensed for 10 years in the state of Montana. I have been helping those in Billings and those who are in rural areas around the state. In the past, I have worked with adolescents and their families through Youth Dynamics, Inc. My passion is to assist others by identifying where they need help and overcoming those challenges. It is great to see when people are excited and feeling lighter because they were able to find a solution to the challenges in their life.

Counseling is not my only experience as a career. The military has been my longest career so far, with counseling following right behind. I have been deployed to Iraq in 2005 and in 2007 to the middle east. I was commissioned as an officer later in my career and the photo is the commissioning ceremony. Standing next to me is Master Sergeant Myers.

He would always tell the cadets, “Communication is the key to success.” I remembered his advice even through all of my leadership positions and even in life outside of the military. Communication is an all encompassing part of life, shaping and molding social experiences. Finding someone to actively listen is crucial to start taking steps forward from what is holding you back. I retired from the military and my time within the Chaplain Corps enhanced my active listening skills even more. I have helped adolescents, marriages/couples, veterans, victims of narcissistic abuse, anxious, and depressed. Through the therapeutic process I support you where you are at currently, assist navigating identified challenges, and observe as you confidently overcome those challenges.
